Strategic's Work Featured in Laika Studio's Film "Coraline"

Our digital printing department's precise color matching, high-resolution imaging, and ability to control adhesion aided the animator's of "Coraline" in achieving their objectives for two scene transitions present in the final film.

We produced a series specialty prints on glass and mylar to their specifications for the scenes.

They might be brief moments, but we're proud to have been able to help in a small way with the production of such a unique and exciting film.

If you haven't seen it, it's a great deal of fun. Scott Brunelle, our graphics designer, especially recommends you see it in 3D. It's worth the extra ticket price!

TopoJet(TM) Process Now Possible on Parts Thicker Than Two Inches

Previously, our TopoJet process was limited to parts under two inches in total thickness.

We've recently discovered how to enable the process on parts significantly thicker!

Although it requires an up-front investment in tooling, this eliminates what was previously one of the most constraining limitations on the technology.

There are still limitations - parts taller than two inches must also be under 18 inches wide and approximately 14 inches long. However, previously un-printable parts can now be decorated in full digital color.

Please contact Guy Newcomer if you have specific questions!

FrescoJet(TM) Process Adhesion Evaluated by Independent Lab

In the course of qualifying our FrescoJet process for their application, one of our customers sent samples of the process performed on glass to an independent laboratory to have adhesion tests performed.

We are pleased to share the results from the test:

They indicate that on glass, without FrescoJet, our UV digital printing was achieving approximately 0 pounds-per-square inch of holding strength.

With FrescoJet, adhesion increased to an astonishing 25 pounds-per-square inch.

Hopefully this technology will allow us to bring UV digital printing to previously impossible uses!
